This video from DiamondSEO does a nice job of summing up the two methods of article marketing by affiliate marketing affiliates. Can you see the difference in where to publish your articles and why?
I did a nice little post for you on banner ads that don't convert and how to sometimes get around that issue. You can find the post on Affiliate Marketers.
I run into so many banners that do absolutley nothing for sales, that a lot of the time it's faster and easier for me to just make my own banners. So, if learning a few tricks regarding that is of interest to you … pop on over to Affiliate Marketers.
The Affiliate Guild has posted an interesting article in their Affiliate News blog about cloaking affiliate links. The article gives some nice instructions on how to do a redirect from your server to hide your affiliate link identity from the initial user click. Of course, after they click it will all become transparent. Take a look and read more … it's good stuff.
One of the biggest questions being asked by bloggers these days is, how do I make money with my blog?
What these bloggers are searching for is what the affiliate marketing people call monitization. Which loosley translates to … how I make money with any property I have on the Internet.
While thinking about this topic, I decided to do a little research and see what others were saying on the topic of bloggers making money blogging. I came across a nice piece byDarren Rowae at proBlogger.net. He's one of the first bloggers I've seen realize that there's a whole advertising world outside of Google.
Making money from blogging is a topic I plan on dedicating a lot of energy too, so for now I'm going to leave you wanting more and let you have chance to go read Darren's thoughts on the topic. It's an excellent read.
Affiliates and Bloggers, finally the wait is over. BlogKits has opened it's doors for business!
And guess what, those who use Google's AdSense don't have to worry about chossing. According to BlogKits you can use both without running any risk to your Google account. Sa-weet!
The BlogKits system is very easy to use and the intuative. Just create an account, login and you'll see right away what I mean. Although I have to admit I wanted that cup of coffee they were using as an example.
The tools section for more advanced users is pretty cool tool. It will be fun to watch Jim Kukral grow this site and features like these tool. You can find more tools at the Affiliate Guild.
BlogKits is tied to OfferForge too, in case you didn't know. So, their offers are also listed there for you. Nice to have one stop affiliate linking.
The first Affiliate Bootcamp class was pretty much what you'd expect of an online class with a bunch of folks who aren't too good at using online formats. We had to help everyone get that hang of using the on line communication interface. There were lots of newbie questions asked, but surprisingly not about affiliate marketing as much as about how to use their own computers … things like how to plug in microphones and speakers.
That's a great eye-opener for me because I try hard to help the newbies and I put all of that information over on the Affiliate Guild. I'm realizing I probably need to add some information on computer basics as well.
So, the first class wasn't all that earth-shattering, but I wasn't expecting it to be. It was a get-to-know-you and get a feel for the room type of thing.
One thing that I did come away with was the communication environment that James used. The company is called iVocalize and the environment is pretty nice … not too hard to figure out. It allows for chat, voice by all members, slideshows, and a whiteboard … there might be more features, but those are the ones I saw. If you've a need for a fairly sophisticated conference room, need something more than your IM can handle, then you might check this one out.
Personally, I really like datafeeds. I think they're a way under used technology for working affiliate marketing.
I received an email this morning … and let me preface this by saying I like both guy who sent me the email and the company he was representing … but I was left wondering after reading the email.
It was a simple email. On December 11th there's going to be a live call that's free to those who register for it. That's the word from Affiliate Classroom. But, the email doesn't tell you WHO the free conference call is with … so, naturally you'll click the link to go see.
It's with Partner Centric … again, very cool.
Thing is, the email never tells you WHAT it is that you're signing up to learn about. They call it Free Affiliate Site Software … which could mean just about anything.
Okay, left to speculate … and that's all I'm doing … I'm guessing it's about datafeeds. Partner Centric has a nice datatfeed technology, which I'm guessing is way under used just like everyone else's is. So, good on them for offering to teach affiliates how to use it!
But, why can we just call it what it is? Why the code words Free Affiliate Site Software? When did "datafeed" become a dirty word?
Unless I'm totally wrong, and we know that's entirely possible. Find out Dec 11th … 300 seats in the room … http://www.affiliateclassroom.com/limited/ … find out for yourself.

Brad Fallon says, StomperNet has exceeded my wildest expectations. At $800 a month to join the StomperNet, that has got to be some nice return on investment for Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins.
The recent release of the StomperNet program was heavily monitored by the SEO and Affiliate Marketing communities … and apparently by Google as well.
In the early releases of their promotional videos for StomperNet, Brad Fallon used his own business website … myweddingfavors.com … as an example of how successful the StomperNet methods can be if followed. Brad brought a lot of traffic and attention to his business website for sure, but he might have also captured the attention of Google.
Google recently updated their Page Rank algorythms and shook up the internet business world yet again, and guess what?! Brad Fallon's myweddingfavors.com is no longer in the top 10 for its keywords wedding favors … not sure it's even in the top 50!
Now Brad and Andy say they don't use black hat techniques at all, and myweddingfavors.com had a ton of backlinks which Google should like as much as a flea likes dogs. So, if myweddingfavors.com followed all the Google rules … why did it get the G-boot?
Google punishes websites for no apparent reasons and of course, they will never tell you why they do what they do. I noticed they pulled all my PR on my blogs, but I've chalked that up to the price I have to pay for switching servers because I only use white hat techniques with my blogs.
Just like Brad and Andy, I'll never know for sure because Google is just a steamroller in the world of search. You know, they say affiliate marketing will be a bigger player than search in the next few years … the question is, do we take Google along for that ride too?
What I love about Darren Rowse, ProBlogger, is the down to earth advice he gives to other bloggers looking to monetize their blogs to earn an income doing waht they love … blogging.
